How you can Help

We need your help in all areas of the Haunted House, from Construction, to Haunting. we also need room sponsors, donations of props, building supplies, decorations, just about anything you can think of.

Volunteers need to complete an Application, please turn in your application ASAP because until the county approves you, you can't help out.

If you don't want to contribure manhours for the labor effort, you can still help. See the "Our Wishlist" page for a list of materials and props we still need, buy one, and drop it off at the Citrus County Auditorium. You will be credited as a Sponsor.

Do not proceed reading if you want the changes to be a suprise. This area is for the planning and design of the Keep, and may giveaway propping changes that will affect the visitor's expierence.

IMPORTANT!

On Nov 2, 2008 we begin teardown.. The house needs to be by noontime on the 3rd, as the Auditorium is used for Elections.. So if you can help, Please come down. We need to quickly, but carefully remove and store the props, and disassemble the walls. If you have not completed the volunteer application, guess what.. We won't ask.. you don't tell ;)

OCT 16TH, 2008

Wall wrapping continues today. Rex will finish installing the Computer network, and begin installing the Animatronics. The Dragon arrived yesterday, and Proping and Decorating continues. We still need your help, so come on down!!

OCT 15TH, 2008

We have better then 3/4+ of the walls up, and sheetrocked, The rest should go up today. Wall wrapping continues today. Rex will begin installing the Computer network. And Proping and Decorating continues. We still need your help, so come on down!!

OCT 14TH, 2008

We have between 1/3 and 1/2 of the walls up, and sheetrocked, we are picking up materials this morning to finish the house, and should have all the framing done today, and all the sheetrock up by tomorrow, assuming we have enough help. Then it's painting, proping, and decoration time, as well as intalling all the computers, networking, controls, pneumatics, animatronics, and other automation systems. We still need your help, so come on down!!

OCT 10TH, 2008

The main entry walls and main support hall went up yesterday, construction continues today, We will begin work at 4:30pm today. We still need your help, so come on down!!

OCT 9TH, 2008

Wall erection begins today, we will be starting the assembling walls starting at 5 PM. If you are handy with a tape measure, screw gun, or have a strong back to help move materials, we NEED you today :)

OCT 8TH, 2008

Construction begins today, if you are interested in helping come to the Auditorium between 2pm and ???, we will be sorting props and materials, and chalklining the floor plan onto the floor. And possible starting erecting walls.

OCT 1ST, 2008

We've run into a few snags with the floor plan, and material needs. Rex and Brad are working to reduce the amount of materials needed, but we're still going to need more sheetrock and studs. Rex and Laurie picked up a laser star prop last week, and Pansey picked up one today. These effects will greatly enhance the haunted house.

SEPT 17, 2008

We are back to meeting at the Auditorium, (next door actually in the old extension office) We've created the rough draft floorplan, and worked on room locations, and proping. Several new faces attended, and this year promises to be the best yet.

JAN 8, 2008

Due to conflicts with the dance class, it was decided to move the meetings to another location, and, change the meeting week, in hopes more people will be able to attend. Although the next meeting will be the Third Tuesday.. Our normal meeting night will be the Third Wednesdays.

DEC 11, 2007

The base update for the haunted house was approved pending availability of props.
Discussed was what went wrong, and what we can do the improve the minor issues we encountered.
Amoung the major issues was increasing guest capacity. Queue times reached 1.5 hours at times in 2007, and while the guests said it was well worth the wait, we can expect a larger volume of guests in 2008, meaning we need to increase capacity.
Proposals were made that would increase capacity by 4-8 times with a scale down option to maintain a limited queue line. This change would allow us to serve as many as 2,500 guest per day assuming we maintain full volume. The scale down option allows us to maintain a minimum 15 minute queue time, allowing guest anticipation to build.

Additionally, it was decided to add a Coven room of witches, prop designs and needs were discussed.
